On April 30th 2025, Maasai youth disrupted the signing of a carbon offsetting agreement in Kajiado county. On the face of it, they had simply rejected a controversial carbon project.
But as this investigation by Martin Siele for Africa Uncensored and OCCRP found, their actions would also expose unprecedented land fraud perpetuated by powerful figures, including proxies and associates of current and former elected officials.
